The Frances M. Moschella Elementary Education Memorial Scholarship
Criteria: (Amount Equal to One Full Annual Tuition Award) The Frances M. Moschella Scholarship will be awarded to a sophomore or junior enrolled in the Elementary Education Program. The applicant must have a strong interest in educating children and must show evidence of financial need. Preferably, students applying for this scholarship should have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.0. The student applying for this scholarship should provide an essay explaining why educating children is important to him/her.
The late Frances M. Moschella graduated with an Elementary Education degree from Worcester State Teachers College in 1939 and she also received her master’s degree in Education. Ms. Moschella dedicated her life to the education of children. Dependable, loyal and delightful to all she met, Ms. Moschella loved the children she taught. Former students hold enduring memories of her patience, dedication and caring way in which she encouraged them to exert their best efforts.
Ms. Moschella’s boundless energy was a true asset to the Alumni Office at Worcester State. She consistently supported alumni activities and inspired others with her devotion and deep sense of loyalty. Ms. Moschella was invaluable to the Alumni Association and her legacy lives on thanks to her family, who made this very generous scholarship possible.
