The Katie L. Fleet Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: One $500 Award :The Katie L. Fleet Memorial Fund will be awarded to a new or currently enrolled full-time graduate student
in the Speech-Language Pathology program based on grade-point-average and basis of need. Preference will be given to
students with undergraduate degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders from either Bridgewater State University
or Worcester State University.

Katie L . Fleet was born on September 25, 1986, and died tragically in a car accident on February 25, 2010, during her first year as a graduate student in the Worcester State University Graduate Program in Speech-Language Pathology. Communication Sciences and Disorders Department members and fellow students established this fund to honor her memory and remember her wonderful traits including: her warm and outgoing personality; her quick wit and sense of humor; her terrific interpersonal skills; her enthusiasm and
zest for life and learning; her creative ideas; her high level of commitment to everyone she knew and everything she touched; her motivation and perseverance; her sensitivity to the needs of others; and her ability to lift the spirits of everyone around her and motivate them to be the best they could be.
