The Stephen J. Bostic '77, M.Ed. '86 and Dianne M. (Fournier) Bostic '79 Scholarship

Worcester State University played a pivotal role in the professional trajectories of alumni Stephen J. Bostic and Dianne M. Bostic. Mr. Bostic achieved a distinguished career in banking, while Mrs. Bostic became an educator in Worcester Public Schools. Their ongoing commitment to the institution is demonstrated through active involvement in university governance and alumni engagement.

Mr. Bostic currently serves on the Athletics Hall of Fame Committee and has previously held positions on the Worcester State Foundation Board and Board of Trustees. In 2025, the couple established a scholarship to support Worcester State students, marking their second philanthropic contribution to the institution.

Their initial scholarship, The Corrine Bostic Memorial Scholarship, honors Mr. Bostic’s mother, who made significant cultural and civil rights contributions to the community. The couple strategically selected Worcester State as their primary philanthropic focus, believing that supporting students can create broader societal impact.

Mrs. Bostic articulated their philanthropic vision, emphasizing the potential for students to leverage their education towards meaningful societal contributions. The Bostics’ connection to Worcester State extends beyond professional development, as they met and married during their university years.

Both fondly recall influential mentors who shaped their academic and professional journeys, including Professors Maureen Stefanini, Richard Juralewicz, administrator Paul Joseph, and hockey coach John Coughlin.

Mr. Bostic reflected that Worcester State was foundational to his personal and professional success, motivating their commitment to supporting future generations of students.
